Artists from the ‘Westelijke Eilanden’ (Bickers-eiland, Prinsen-eiland and Realen-eiland) will open their doors to the public. Get inspired by studios with a variety of exhibitions of new talents and established names. Almost all art techniques are represented.

The oldest art route in Amsterdam

During the Pentecost weekend of 7, 8 and 9 June 2025, artists from the Western Islands will open their doors between 12:00 and 18:00.

Open Ateliers Westelijke Eilanden was founded in 1985 and is the oldest art route in the Netherlands. It is also a very special art route because this beautiful, quiet part of the city has the most artists per area compared to the whole of the Netherlands!

There is a central exhibition with an overview exhibition of artists from the Western Islands. Be surprised by the works of famous artists, renowned galleries and emerging talents. The central exhibition takes place in De Walvis on Bickerseiland, where there is also an information stand.
